International Museums Day is celebrated annually on May 18th.
This year’s theme for the event will be Museums for a sustainable society. It highlights the role of museums in raising public awareness about the need for a society that is less wasteful, more cooperative and that uses resources in a way that respects living systems.
Completed applications for the 2015/2016 Special Projects Capital Assistance Program (SPCAP), administered by YG's Museums Unit, are due by 4:30 pm on February 13th, 2015.

The Department of Tourism and Culture will be hosting a Collections Management course delivered by the University of Victoria. Participation in the training opportunity is free of charge. The instructor, Richard Gerrard, has extensive knowledge in collection and conservation and currently works for City of Toronto Museums Services.
