Please join us for this free, upcoming Lunch and Learn. This session is for board and staff members of non-profit organizations, social enterprises, and SMEs. During this participatory Lunch & Learn, we’ll explore fraud prevention and sound financial systems that ensure accountability and transparency for non-profit organizations.

This workshop is organized by the Yukon Non-Profit Advisory Council, of which YHMA is a part, in response to concerns heard from the sector, with funding support from the NGO Training Fund.

What we’ll cover:

  • what is theft & fraud
  • how to identify it within your organizations
  • how to set up your organization for financial accountability and transparency
  • how new digital tools can help prevent fraud (e.g. double verification of online banking)
  • how to use your financial tools to verify if there has been fraud
  • steps you can take if you suspect or have uncovered possible fraud

As a Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB), Sheila has dedicated her career to bookkeeping and financial management for the past 19 years. Although she has extensive experience providing services to a wide cross-section of businesses and organizations, her heart is drawn to the non-profit sector.

Wendy Morrison, Founder of YZED Projects
Wendy launched Yukon-based social innovation company YZED Projects to support organizational effectiveness with organizations and accelerate impact. She has over 20 years experience in non-profit management and Board experience in a variety of sectors including health, environment, social justice, community development, education, the arts, recreation and tourism.
