The Hà Kus Teyea Celebration takes place July 24-26, 2015 in Teslin, Yukon.
The celebration will take place at the Teslin Tlingit Council Heritage Centre, with three full days of programming. Leading the festivities will be a traditional lake crossing and arrival in a Tlingit canoe, followed by a greeting ceremony and the lighting of the Celebration Fire. A welcoming and grand entrance parade with pageantry, flags and Tlingit regalia will follow in the afternoon. Scheduled daily are: public art workshops, cultural demonstrations, storytelling, traditional canoe events, First Nation performers, artist’s market, kids’ zone, stick gambling and a variety of food vendors. Each evening will begin with a public feast, followed by cultural performances.
