As the 2019 federal election approaches, the national, provincial, and territorial museums associations are working together on advocacy efforts in support of our members and the museum community at-large. This week, we sent joint letters to the federal political party leaders, highlighting the importance of investing in museums and seeking the parties' positions on critical questions for the museum sector. YHMA is looking for feedback about our services, programs and advocacy priorities. Your participation will help us determine how we can improve and what advocacy issues you would like us to focus on. We are collecting responses from Members and Non-members. If you are unsure if you are a member please fill out the Member Survey and select "Unsure" on Question 1. Our 2019 Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 7:00 pm at the Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre. Join us for an overview of YHMA's activities over the past year and what's in store for the coming year, the presentation of our 2018-19 financial statements, and the election of our 2019-20 Board of Directors. WHITEHORSE, YT - The Yukon Historical & Museums Association (YHMA) today announced the winners of the 35th annual Yukon Heritage Awards. Yukoners are invited to attend the Awards ceremony at the Yukon Archives on Monday, February 18, 2019. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the event will commence at 7:00 p.m.
