Do you know someone who has made significant contributions to conserve, celebrate, and share Yukon’s heritage?

The Yukon Historical & Museums Association is seeking nominations for the 2018 Heritage Awards. The deadline for submissions is midnight on January 15, 2019. Nominations are accepted in the following categories:

The Yukon Heritage Training Fund (HTF) Adjudication Committee is made of up to five members representing heritage sectors in the Yukon. Currently there is one opening on the Committee.

Gain valuable heritage sector work experience in Canada’s beautiful North. The Yukon Historical & Museums Association (YHMA) is seeking an engaged, self-motivated individual to join our team as Community Relations Coordinator, focusing on strengthening YHMA’s relationships with its members and other stakeholders, enhancing the Yukon heritage community network, and raising the profile of YHMA and the greater Yukon heritage community with the public. DEADLINE NOW EXTENDED TO APRIL 15.

WHITEHORSE, YT - The Yukon Historical & Museums Association (YHMA) will be hosting a Vintage, Collectibles, and Antiques Sale on Saturday, February 24 from 10 am to 3 pm, at the Old Canadian Tire Building (NVD Place) Interior Mall, Ogilvie Street, Whitehorse.

This is a fundraising event for the YHMA. Proceeds from table rentals and YHMA sales will be used to enhance and improve downtown LePage Park and the surrounding heritage buildings.

The YHMA presents awards to individuals, organizations and businesses which have made a special contribution to the conservation or interpretation of some aspect of Yukon’s heritage.

The 2017 Heritage Symposium, Activating Our Communities, will take place on Thursday, October 26 at the Klondike Insitute of Art and Culture in Dawson City. Join YHMA for a chance to meet new colleagues and catch up with old ones, be inspired by new ideas and trends, and share knowledge and best practices. Registration will be free of charge!

Proposal Deadline: Friday, September 15, 2017

A limited number of print copies of "The Northern Review" #44, "The North and the First World War," are now available for sale through YHMA for just $25 each. This packed volume includes 19 papers originally presented at "The North and the First World War" conference, held in May 2016 and produced by YHMA and the International Centre for Northern Governance and Development in partnership with Yukon College.
